We can do photoshoots of any kind for you and your family. Maybe candids at your child's birthday party, annual kids' portraits, a family session - make sure to include your beloved pet!
Of course, Art is probably best when it is taught outside the classroom! These kids did a variety of summer camps. Collage, printmaking, sculpture... whatever! They are given an initial concept and told to play with the materials. Happiness is the final product.
Just another picture from summer camp. This was from a final show at Artists of Yardley. The kids did printmaking, then took all the scraps from their favorite prints and turned them in to a multimedia collage. We called these Abstract Shape Collages and they were a big hit.
Do you see stuff on Pinterest and say to yourself, "I would never do that," "I don't have the time," "I don't want the mess in my home!" These are just a few examples of fun activities for kids that are easy and keep the kids occupied for hours.
There is so much to do in the Pre-K classroom. The kids have their outside time (gross motor activities), learn their letters and numbers, free play at Centers... and of course there is snack and multiple bathroom breaks! But what does a four year old learn from artmaking? The child learns that he or she has control of the material. That she is not limited by rules and can do whatever she wants. That she can sit still for a while and be alone with her thoughts while she manipulates materials.
A friend asked if she could have placecards for her daughter's wedding. Then we did table placards too. She wanted casual, handwritten cards to match the natural feel of the wedding. Each card was placed in a wood piece like the one shown.
This small gallery is from a high school art class where the students had little prior art learning. No need to start over with the color wheel, color theory or drawing instruction. The students just needed to be given projects that would be easy and enjoyable. Projects that would give them confidence in their abilities and realize that artmaking can be an escape from anything that is troubling you.
Q: How many times can you say, "So cute!" during one hour?
A: A lot!
We created this Mommy & Me toddler art class and appropriate named it "Messy Babies." The class involved a welcome song, reading a story, two small art activities and free play. It sounds like a lot, but it was perfect! Such an incredible delight to watch these little people explore their world though messy materials.
The Yardley Art Fairy began a few years ago with an 8-year old girl's birthday party. We did two drawing projects to go along with the Frozen theme. Guests of the party took home little gifts from the art fairy.
These are some examples of personalized artwork. The first is a watercolor sunset painted on fabric for a baby blanket; also showing paintings for a child's new room. Anything is possible!
