Teaching philosophy. Artmaking celebrates a child's natural development. We can put a crayon in front of a child and she will make marks on the paper. But teaching needs to come in to the equation. My philosophy of teaching combines my knowledge of Art and my understanding of children's abilities to create meaningful learning experiences. This entire process is based on a love for Art and respect for everyone's creative process.
Artist's Statement. Maybe we should talk about the witty expression, "Those who can't do, teach!" I can create art. I am not the best at drawing or painting or sculpting or crafting. I have had students who have surpassed me in technical ability. What I enjoy most is translating the artmaking experience into a discussion and sharing it with others. It's what I love to do, and witnessing the magic of the creative process is just as rewarding from where I stand.
Services offered. It can be daunting to tackle any project if you don't have the confidence to see it through. If your child asks for an art-themed birthday party, think of the Yardley Art Fairy. If your child loves making arts and crafts, ask a bunch of friends over and create a private class for a group. Has your child asked you for an amazing mural in her bedroom? Let us know!
